1. Introduction
WorkingHomes Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000) (WorkingHomes, we, us) arranges long-stay accommodation for construction and workforce clients. We are committed to keeping the personal and business information you share with us confidential, and to handling personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy applies to information we collect through this website, by email and phone, and while arranging and managing accommodation. Hosts and property managers should also read our Hosts Privacy Policy.
2. Our confidentiality commitment
Everything you share with us — personal details, project locations and dates, crew lists, booking details and commercial information — is treated as confidential. In particular:
- access is limited to the people in our team who need it to look after your booking;
- information is used only for the purpose it was provided for;
- our staff and contractors are bound by confidentiality obligations; and
- we never disclose one client's project or pricing details to another client.
3. Our privacy commitment
We will:
- collect only the information we need to provide our services;
- use it for arranging and managing accommodation, communicating with you, and meeting our legal obligations;
- never sell your personal information; and
- never share it with third parties for their marketing.
4. Information we collect
- Client enquiries and accounts — name, company, work email, phone, project location, crew size, dates, accommodation preferences, billing details and any notes you send us.
- Crew members — names and contact details of the people staying at a property, provided by their employer for check-in, access and emergencies.
- Stays — check-in and check-out records, house rules acknowledgements, condition reports (which may include photographs) and incident records.
- Website data — when you submit a form, the page you used, the time, your browser type and the country derived from your IP address.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details. Please do not include it in free-text fields; if a stay genuinely requires it (for example, an accessibility need) we will ask for it specifically and use it only for that purpose.
5. How we use it
- to respond to enquiries and prepare shortlists and quotes;
- to arrange, confirm and manage accommodation, including check-in, access and any issues during a stay;
- to issue invoices, receive payments and keep business records;
- to keep you informed about your bookings and our services; and
- to meet our legal obligations and protect our rights.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only where it is needed:
- Accommodation providers — the company name, guest names and stay dates needed to fulfil a booking.
- Trusted service providers — such as website hosting, email, accounting and payment services, under confidentiality obligations and only for the services they provide to us.
- Authorities — regulators, courts or law enforcement where required or authorised by law.
7. Overseas disclosure
We aim to keep information in Australia. Some of our service providers operate globally — for example, our website host (Cloudflare) and [email / CRM / accounting providers] — and may store or process information overseas. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
8. Security and retention
We protect information with access controls, encryption in transit, secure storage and regular reviews of who can access what. We keep information only as long as we need it or the law requires — business and financial records for at least 7 years, and enquiries that don't proceed for [24 months] — and then securely delete or de-identify it.
9. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures visits without cookies or cross-site tracking. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives basic technical information (such as your IP address) when your browser requests them.
10. Your rights and complaints
You can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- delete information we no longer need, where the law allows; and
- stop sending you marketing at any time.
We respond to requests and complaints within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Policy updates
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
